Dizziness of Eros

author

Roberto Sebastian Antonio Matta Echaurren

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: the Museum of Modern Art (New York, the USA).

The artist demonstrated the state of severe dizziness with the help of original expressive means. Randomly scattered objects floating in dark space resemble the depths of the ocean, where strange creatures live, or represent an infinite universe in which human plans and aspirations have absolutely no meaning. They create an absolute harmony and a smooth rhythm that immerses the viewer in a dream or light trance state. This painting, created by the artist during his stay in the United States, inspired many painters, including American artists, to found Abstract Expressionism.
