author

Anatol Petrytsky

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The collection of I. Dichenko (Ukraine).

The canvas of the mature master is one of the few survived easel paintings, since during the war most of the works were destroyed in fires. Having passed the stage of Constructivism in the early 1920s, Petrytsky returned to painting, combining the features of French Cubism and Ukrainian Futurism. The marina objects fill the entire space of the composition and are mainly schematically depicted. Despite the fact that the sea is depicted conditionally, sometimes even decoratively, the viewer feels a slight movement-pitching. The artist achieved this effect by multidirectional outlines of ships and sailboats.
