The artist always preferred the complex to the unit of the work. The park composition is huge – 112 iron standing and walking half-figures almost twice as tall as human height. The elementary “module” of the art of Abakanowicz most often was a person, his position in modern society – various conditions, but, above all, being in the crowd, a kind of anonymity and facelessness. Showing a person with lost identity, the sculptor emphasized her idea – the severity of the destiny and the pain associated with the body. She created a dead reflection of an original form, which is devoid of content, pulp and essence.
