Truck

author

Mario Sironi

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Brera Gallery (Milan, Italy).

The artist created this futuristic painting inspired by the beauty and power of modern cars under the influence of Umberto Boccioni’s works. The big black automobile that symbolizes the era of inventions and new technologies occupies almost the entire surface of the canvas. The theme of an automobile, especially a truck, was in several paintings by the master. Sironi’s cars seem powerful and motionless, solemn heroes on a gray and disturbing landscape consisting of heavy forms of industrial warehouses.
