1982
Mediums: basalt, water.
Location: The Isamu Noguchi Foundation (New York, the USA).
In the late period of his work, Isamu Noguchi worked mainly in Japan, carving stone sculptures from local basalt. He paid much attention to natural elements, combining traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern trends in art. The composition is based on contrast created by the calm stillness of the stone and the smooth flow of water, gently and naturally flowing over the surface of the well. The sculpture symbolizes the eternal harmony of nature and gives you philosophical thoughts.
