The village. Going by the horse

author

Victor Palmov

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The National Art Museum of Ukraine (Kyiv).

The canvas, literally full of colours, is a confirmation that Palmov turned into a child who adores everything bright when painting. At the same time, in the picture, the artist demonstrated his ability to convey a tempestuous movement – a locally red horse bucking up, the tense pose of a rider, holding in the saddle with a tremendous effort, a hand gesture of the owner observing the process and the anger of the yard dog are depicted accurately and very emotionally. The shapes of intensely swirling dust clouds echo the same clouds in a dark blue sky. At the same time, houses were transferred schematically – as children depict them. This picture is one of those banned from showing and found in the special fund of the art museum in Kyiv.
