Briefly about the painting:

Art experts note that particularly reverent attitude to the light is a mutual feature of the art of Rembrandt and Ivan Marchuk. This is the most important element of his paintings, especially landscapes. Also, his style is similar to the style of Arkhip Kuindzhi. The series of paintings, when the light appears and comes to life, was created without phosphorescent pigments. The peculiarity of these canvases, like of almost all Marchuk’s landscapes, is the absence of green, even if this is a bush or flowers. The tiniest brushstrokes (pointillism) make the master’s canvases surprisingly real. It is interesting that the artist created many landscapes of his motherland during his stay in America, from the earlier sketches and only with Ukrainian paints, which Ivan Stepanovich bought, visiting Kiev almost every year.
