The Eiffel tower

author

Robert Delaunay

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Museum of Solomon R. Guggenheim, New York, USA.

The symbol of Paris is often found in the paintings of the master. In this work, the artist seems to represent the famous tower from several sides at the same time. At first glance, it is hard to be recognized: the strange construction of red-orange tones. It seems as if it collapses, parts of the structure fall one on another. In fact, Delaunay’s goal was to show the dynamism of life in the French capital.
