The dynamism of the movements of women

author

Luigi Russolo

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The City Museum (Grenoble, France).

Art experts notice that this work has a lot in common with Duchamp’s famous painting “Naked, Going Down the Stairs”. The woman’s movement breaks up into several separate phases, and her figure itself is depicted in the form of simplified geometric structures. The picture clearly shows that the author is not at all interested in the personality of this lady, as well as what she does and where she goes. Russolo cares only for the technical aspects of the image, which make it possible to depict the movement of an object in space reliably and realistically.
