1975
Mediums: stell.
Location: Tate Modern Gallery (London, the UK).
The sculpture consists of interconnected by abstract welding pieces of metal and several ribbon-like strips of the same material placed horizontally. Like in other works of the series, a part of the sculpture rests on a flat surface, while the lower elements hang in the air, creating a balance of the composition. Parallel and intersecting lines emphasize the dynamics of the work, and smooth bends soften the heaviness and hardness of the steel. The work is made on a scale comparable to the size of a person, which makes it accessible for physical contact.
