Briefly about the painting:

This work clearly demonstrates the masterly technique of the artist – he painted with photo-realistic accuracy. This mostly concerns the depiction of the human body – his visits to the Institute of Pathology of the University were reflected there. At the same time, the master manipulates the reality – such clashes characterize the imaginative part of Surrealism as a whole. The character, locked in metal structures and stripped below the belt, makes a depressing impression not only because of his piercing gaze, but also because of the strangeness of the architecture or cave that surrounds him. He not only cannot see the golden sky in the background, but also all light in general is not available to him.
