Portrait of an unknown woman in green against the background of a window with the Eiffel Tower

description

Mediums: cardboard, watercolour.
Location: The Arkhangelsk Art Museum (Russia).

Most often, art critics identify the image as a portrait of Countess Marianne Zarnekau, nee Pistolkors. The beautiful face of the beloved of the Grand Duke who was arrested in connection with the murder of Rasputin is depicted in a recognizable authorial manner. By genre it is a synthesis of graphics and painting, and by style it is rather modern with a touch of romanticism. The colour scheme is minimalism: the author uses shades of green in an exquisite combination with beige intonations. The background almost merges with the bare shoulder of the model, and the silhouette of the Eiffel tower is almost lost in an aerial perspective.
