description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Museum of Contemporary Art in Paris (France).

The surrealistic landscape inspired by the journey is named “in honor of” the general definition of thickets of prickly shrubs and low trees (pistachio and strawberry tree, olive, juniper, myrtle, etc.). The “unfriendly” hard-leaved plants of the artist get appearance of fantastic creatures surrounded by old trees with thick roots. The sculpturally depicted dark and light trunks, covered with the veins of shadows are the background for the bright red thorny tree clinging to life in an impassable forest, probably inhabited by strange creatures.
