Hearth

author

Esteban Francés

description

Mediums: oil, cardboard.
Location: The Guillermo de Osma Gallery (Madrid, Spain).

The work impresses you with its dynamism and great vitality. The abstract forms occupying the center of the canvas resemble trees leaning to the ground from powerful gusts of wind or burning in a bright fire. These living trees fiercely fight with the elements, while the wind and fire try to overcome their resistance at all costs. As the name implies, the plot was inspired by the author’s observations of burning logs in the hearth and brought by him to some kind of action that has dramatic nature.
