description

Mediums: bronze.
Location: The Museum of Fine Art (San Francisco, the USA).

The bronze composition if a strange combination of a human fist and two glass eyes, clutched between its fingers. From a certain point of view, the sculpture resembles a face of an old man or a mysterious bird dazedly looking at the world. The weirdness and incompatibility of the elements of the sculpture attracted attention of many admirers of surrealistic art, who saw “Fist” at the International exhibition organized at the Gallery Maeght in Paris in 1947. This work is a perfect expression of the ideas of the style and is a true example of the surrealistic culture.
