In this sculpture, the contradictions, ambiguities and contrasts inherent in the style of Louise Bourgeois are fully manifested. At first glance, the work seems incomprehensible and mysterious, its shape resembles either a punching bag, or a beehive, and the name is in no way associated with fairies or sewing. The author refers to a seamstress bird, which equips nests of a similar shape on trees. The sculpture inside is like a fairytale house; it has several floors and openings for entry and exit, in which you can put your hand; however, instead of the expected warmth and homeliness, the nest is cold and empty inside. Such a dissonance hints at Bourgeois childhood, which she spent in his father’s house, in which an atmosphere of alienation reigned.
