description

Mediums: acrylic, canvas.
Location: private collection.

About the painting:

In this work, like in almost all late paintings by Onslow Ford, there is always the theme of star sky, which he himself always called his “inner sky”. Created in the imagination of the artist, the bright Universe plays with its fancy colors, twists into spirals, explodes and sparks making the viewer feel dizzy. Mysterious signs and hieroglyphs suddenly appearing in different places of the canvas complete the general image. To create his paintings, Gordon Onslow Ford used three main elements: a dot, a line and a circle, which he considered to be to only simple forms able to reflect the real essence of the Universe.
