Seeing green

author

Gordon Onslow Ford

description

Mediums: acrylic, paper.
Location: San Jose Museum of Art (San Jose, California, the USA).

About the painting:

One of the last works of the artist, who continued to actively work until his death. In the late period of his work, Onslow Ford used brighter, more saturated colors, completely moving away from the monochrome works of the second half of the 20th century. Cheerful green, deep red and pure blue colors make up the main palette of the painting. To create the painting, the author still used simple figures: a dot, a line and a circle, and also the method of automatic writing, allowing the colors to fall on the canvas in any order.
