The urban surreal landscape depicts a place remotely similar to a real square with a tall cathedral. The figure in the foreground placed strictly in the center of the composition is a woman in long, fluttering robes walking towards the viewer. Behind her are other pedestrians, as well as a horse harnessed to a wagon. The noticeable change in the technique of drawing is combined with the motives of a circle characteristic of the mature master. The figures, according to experts, recall the author’s acquaintance with the art of Alberto Giacometti, with whom Otto made friends in Paris and whom he met several times in Italy.
