Briefly about the painting:

The idea of this painting is connected with the murder of the manufacturer of fashionable dolls, which was covered in the press. According to the genre, the composition maintains a balance between a home portrait and a horror plot story, which somehow threatens childhood. The face of the smiling girl is very expressive; her brown eyes are very bright and moist-shiny. Behind her you can see two sumptuously dressed dolls – one in a blue smart dress is somewhat ghostly, like its shadow on the wall. The doll’s face is porcelain; its look is soulless, stiff. The eyes of the second doll, thrown on the floor, are sensibly sad. These three faces in the picture, as if complementing and at the same time contradicting each other, are the most interesting.
