The large expressive canvas on the well-known biblical plot depicts six half-naked women, inevitably approaching Anthony, who is hiding from temptations in the desert. They offer the righteous not only their feminine charms but also gold and exotic fruits. Their powerful bodies move with great pressure; they have got the aggression of predators on their faces, which cannot be hidden behind face smiles and alluring glances. They occupy the whole space, leaving the man only a small corner. His salvation, however, is near – these are wise books and a whip. They are not accidentally in the foreground and are the colour accent of the work.
