description

Mediums: gouache, pencil, paper.
Location: The Museum of Modern Art, New York (the USA).

Briefly about the painting:

Developing the idea of a new painting art, which was inspired by the successes of science and technology, A. Rodchenko for the first time in this and other works used such “non-artistic” instruments as dividers, a ruler, and a roller. The multidirectional sharp figures of this Cubist abstraction, and especially the diagonal detail, make it dynamic. The artist, unlike his Suprematist colleagues (but not quite like-minded people), used not absolutely pure colors of the palette. In addition, he introduced highlights and transitions into individual parts that add volume to the entire composition.
