The museum is located next to the Jardin Majorelle – the house of Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Berger, which they bought in 1980.

Yves Saint Laurent first arrived in Marrakech in 1966.

“This city taught me colour. In Marrakech, I realized that the range of colours that I had previously intuitively used came out of Arabic clothing and interior – djellaba, caftans and zellige tile. This culture became mine, but it was not enough for me to simply absorb it. I transformed it and adapted it for Europe. ” – Yves Saint Laurent.

Jardin Majorelle

The permanent exhibition of the museum holds 5,000 personal belongings of the designer, 15,000 accessories and tens of thousands of Saint Laurent sketches.

Café Le Studio, named after the workplace of Yves Saint Laurent in Paris, offers a combination of traditional Moroccan and French dishes.
