The master made this famous figurine in three sizes – 108, 63 and 35 cm, often reproducing the middle version. The sculpture refers to the experimental period when Arkhipenko created new plastic forms on the basis of cubist techniques that brought the world fame to the innovator. The through openings introduced into the sculpture (here it is the face and neck), expressively emphasized the silhouette, as well as the curved lines at the site of the bulge of the hips. This is how paradoxicality and recognition appeared in the works of Arkhipenko. One of the copies is in the Tate Gallery (London), the author gave the original plaster version to the Saarbrücken Museum, which did not replicate it.
