Neutra Experimental House

author

Richard Neutra

description

Built in three phases that reflect Neutra’s three main periods. The exterior looks like a modernist house, but the interior is designed by analogy with a Spanish palazzo from the 17th century. The space expands significantly visually and receives a lot of light thanks to glass walls and a patio with a garden. Neutra wanted to combine architecture and nature as much as possible, so the architecture here seems to envelop the already existing trees. The house is designed in such a way that several people can live on a small area, having their own privacy. The planning is thought out to the smallest detail in order to avoid the intersection of different zones. Light, acoustics and nature are combined into an organic whole. With the help of mirrors, glass, water, reflective surfaces were created; this contributed to the creation of even greater harmony with nature. The use of natural, minimally processed wood also contributed to the introduction of natural elements into every aspect of everyday life.
