description

This work combines high art with a deep understanding of the natural landscape and is fully integrated into it. The architect is trying to dissolve the structure in the environment. The entrance is not immediately visible through the partially confusing path to the building – you descend into the museum almost through the roof area, which is not typical for a public building. An ensemble of intricate shapes, it includes the experience of traveling up the hillside from galleries in the north to atmospheric crypt-like spaces strewn with broken emblems of antiquity. The museum juxtaposes classic and vibrant elements, including an entrance pavilion with a marble entrance, with a zinc canopy, and a sandstone corner tower with biomorphic mirrored glass cutouts. Inside, a complex architecture is revealed, it consists of interconnected diagonals and the visitor has a new experience of perceiving the works of art.
