Young boy peeling a pear

author

Edouard Manet

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: National Museum of Fine Arts, Sweden.

The second name of this work is “The picture of Leon Lehnhoff”. It has often been assumed that Leon was an illegitimate son of Edouard Manet and Suzanne Lehnhoff, a music teacher. The painter accurately depicted the teenager, his fashionable hairstyle, a tie and the first unshaven beard.
