Installation.
The first known works by Jeff Koons were conceptual installations. One of them is basketballs floating in the water; they have lost their original purpose and are placed in a glass aquarium. Initially, the container was filled with plain water, but then, to achieve greater harmony, Koons hired scientists who created a specially balanced solution. After that, the balls began to swim right in the middle. It is known that this work inspired another famous contemporary artist, Damien Hirst, to create his famous installations with animals floating in a formaldehyde solution.
