The artist explored the attention to the movement (the style of futurism) under the influence of D. Burliuk and other aveniristes. The famous canvas “Cyclist” conveys it not only through tripling the back and legs of the rider (the foot in the foreground shows several stages of movement) but also through the individual letters of signboards «going» through the cyclist, the bicycle of which is passing by them. At the same time, the very dynamic famous futuristic canvas is painted in calm and realistic colours, just like the general view of the bicycle. Sometimes people called Goncharova «least avant-garde» of avant-garde painters for this external realism.
