This light and poetic painting is a vivid contrast to the overloaded details of the artist’s early paintings. The serene blue background with dots, lines and several laconic figures located on it creates a particular rhythm and fantastic balance on the canvas. The style of the master became pure and very refined; it is characterized by simplicity when only a few elementary figures are enough to express thoughts. This is the most expensive painting by Joan Miro; it was sold at auction in 2012 for 23.5 million pounds.
