author

Marc Chagall

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: Center Pompidou – Musée National d’Art Moderne (Paris, France).

In the world of art, the works of Chagall are easily recognizable – it is impossible to confuse his style. His innate ability to see unique things in the simplest things, to depict them in a very original but understandable language to the viewer is the main feature of Chagall’s style. Besides, the heroine of the paintings is recognizable: whoever the model is, she is with Bella’s face. And almost always the artist is nearby, even if he needs to be in the sky for this. In the technique of this work, there is already more post-impressionism; the elements of cubist painting inherent in his early pictures are absent; the palette is also more restrained.
