description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery (Russia).

Painting in the style of suprematism, the artist most closely studied the problem of black color and its various interactions with other colors. In this composition, the black color serves as a background for several shades of pure white, white-blue and light gray colors, which are arranged as uneven horizontal figures. They are visually similar to strips of paper with bent edges, sometimes not tightly attached to the main white vertical. Thanks to this technique, the whole figure on the canvas looks airy.
