Mediums: limestone.
Location: the National Art Gallery, Canberra (Australia).
The only fully preserved freestanding figure. The sensual curves of straight, narrow features and geometric shapes are opposed to a long slender column that could serve as an architectural pillar. The folded arms resemble prehistoric figurines and Greek idols. At the same time, the complex hairstyle is associated with ancient Egyptian art. In addition, an echo of the Cambodian or Khmer sculpture can be found in the image of the earrings and necklace. African sculpture plays a vital role in the shape of a head with a long nose and heavy eyes, and a tiny mouth and delicately carved eyebrows resemble Senufo masks from the Ivory Coast region.
