One of the many paintings of the artist, depicting ordinary people at work. According to the author, he never tried to embellish everyday life, but only painted it as he saw it. Middle-aged women sitting in the center occupy almost the entire plane of the canvas, their poses are static, and their faces are monumentally calm and dispassionate, like statues. The red figures in the foreground sharply contrast with the main bluish-gray colour scheme of the canvas.
