Self-portrait of Alisa Ivanovna has the second name “The Artist and His Modeling”. The nostalgic painting is her recollection of her native city on the Neva (after the war, she had to settle down in Moscow for housing reasons), of her youth, close friends and like-minded people who had already passed away. Their blue facemasks surround the artist’s half-profile – it is half-shaded in the center of the canvas. Among the shadows, of course, is D. Harms, who died in the dungeons. He is depicted with two faces inherent in him – tragic and cheerful.
