In a cycle devoted to saw cutters, Bogomazov covered the traditional for Ukrainian painting theme of labour on a monumental stage and by his new developments in colours. The compositional and plastic methods and decoratively presented colour create a feeling of enjoyable labour. The artist subordinated the plan to a single rhythm: the steel saws with rainbow colours, the sawn logs and new huts shining in the sun. The innovative painting with a palette (the master put his idea of “spectralism” into practice) does not distract the viewer neither from the strong hands of workers with thick fingers depicted with realistic accuracy nor from their focused faces.
