1927
Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Madrid collection of Baron Thyssen i Bornemisza (Spain).
The artist created the large wall panel to decorate the House of Print in Leningrad. Glebova worked on the project together with Alice Poret, who completed the second part of the canvas entitled “Beggars and street children”. Subsequently, the work was divided, and its half painted by Poret was lost. The prison, as interpreted by the artist, is a special world inhabited by fantastic creatures and ghostly prisoners, who aggressively and eagerly look from behind their bars. The work, made in the technique of analytical art, is so reminiscent of the work of Filonov that for some time it was he who was considered the author of the painting.
