Talented and popular ballerina Ekaterina Halperina is depicted in the manner of a very beautiful and glamorous salon portrait. Exquisite, even sophisticated colours of the background and light clothes of the model only complement the sophisticated contour pattern. The young woman is in a very difficult, but obviously flexible position for her flexible body. “Softened” cubism and elements of futuristic dynamics do not conflict with such decorative still-life details as a half of a lemon and a contoured pear. The author depicted his wife’s face in the most favorable perspective – the chiseled profile of the artist is incredibly beautiful.
