Location: The Krasnodar Regional Art Museum named after F. Kovalenko (Russia).
In one of his treatises, Mikhail Menkov stated: “Until now, the painting was not clean, but there was a copy of nature, an expression of the artist’s thoughts.” In a number of paintings in the style of absolute abstraction (for this work it is declared even by its name), the artist seeks to capture only the form and find a harmonious colour solution to it. Most likely, the picture was created under the impression of Malewicz’s “Black Square”, which by that time had already become a byword for critics and art historians and a subject of reflection for many artists.
