Out of town. After the rain

author

Aleksandr Shevchenko

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The State Tretyakov Gallery, Moscow (Russia).

The landscape was painted in an impressionistic manner that had already become a classic by the time the work was created. In the picture, we can see the outskirts of the city at a time when the sky above it brightened lighting up both bushes in the foreground and the washed houses in the background. There is a lot of clean air, the transparency of which is expressed by the deep perspective. A bold, lively brushstroke and joyful colours (a combination of blue, pink, golden hues in the sky and their reflection in the mirror-smooth water of the pond) make the canvas brighter and give the viewer a charge of cheerfulness that nature received and generously shared with people.
