This small brass sculpture on a wooden stand was created as a model of a larger sculpture for the electronics company Mullard. This is one of the most sophisticated and finely balanced compositions, which expresses the idea of the harmony of modern technology and music. Barbara Hepworth was a passionate music lover and played the piano well, so the theme of music was very close to her. The artist added here parallel lines that resembled strings and often said that music is an integral part of life and that while listening to a particular composition, it represents its visualization in sculpture.
