Not a garden – the city of Kiev

author

Anatol Petrytsky

description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The National Museum of Art, Kyiv (Ukraine).

The artist created this famous landscape with a name similar to a slogan as a real view, which opened from the balcony of his Kyiv apartment. In general, there was a period of lyricism and nostalgia in the work of Anatoly Petrytsky of the last years of his life. The spring riot of colours depicted by the artist if like a reminder of the golden years of his work with the best representatives of Ukrainian art and vibrant theater groups. On the facade of the house, which is the embodiment of Art Nouveau style, a commemorative plaque was placed.
