A special place in the sculptural work of Sergey Timofeevich was occupied by the theme of music. He created numerous sculptures of singers, composers and musicians (Chaliapin, Mikula, Rachmaninov, Romashkov, Plevitskaya, Nezhdanova). Admiring Bach’s creations, for a long time he looked for a plastic image of the genius until he saw the face of Johann Sebastian in one of the marble blocks in 1910. “My cutter was led by his music,” commented the author. Nicolo Paganini was also one of his favorite characters. The master created his monumental marble sculpture back in 1908. The wooden statue of the Italian outstanding composer and violinist is an original hymn to inspiration and music.
