Mikhail Matyushin

description

Mediums: paper, watercolor.
Location: The Regional Art Museum. Vasnetsov, Kirov (Russia).

M. Matyushin was one of the pioneers in the development of color systems, whose “Handbook of color” is considered the pinnacle of Russian color science. In fact, this abstraction is almost not connected with the real locality, as his paints are not connected with the surface of the base – they seem to glide along the picturesque plan like reflections, colored spots and their shadows. The artist paid special attention to the perception of color in his work, since the aesthetic qualities of coloristic harmonies merge, in his opinion, with the psychology of creativity. This is what sets the viewer to the immediate psycho-physiological factors of perception at the level “like – dislike”.
