description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: private collection.

This painting was the artist’s memories about two years that he spent in the Caucasus. From a height that is commonly called “a bird’s-eye view”, the artist proposes to watch the play of shadows on the bare red rocks, which mysteriously hold several lonely trees. The almost monochrome canvas conveys the severity and inaccessibility of the nature of this region, but just below the viewer can see a narrow and dangerous, but still the road to a house.
