description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The Museum of Fine Arts of the Republic of Karelia (Petrozavodsk, Russia).

Paintings on the theme of large-scale construction, the construction of large industrial facilities and the development of technological progress were characteristic of Soviet art of the 1930s. Mikhail Tsybasov also created several paintings and graphic works on this subject, both to order and on his own. Unlike many Soviet painters, the author rather wanted to show the unity and solidarity of people than the industrial power of the young developing state. The picture demonstrates the coordinated work of man and technology, where everyone knows his place and performs the necessary functions. Not the last place in the picture is taken by the image of nature, which complements the artist’s idea, revitalizes and balances the composition.
