description

Mediums: oil, canvas.
Location: The National Art Gallery of Prague (Czech Republic).

About the painting:

This work refers to the Paris period of the artist’s career. This is one of the few of early but close to Surrealism paintings by the Czech artist, where he still used a sufficiently bright palette combined with calm tones. Shining with rich colors, a large balloon floats easily over three dull gray objects against a background painted in light green pastel shades. They can be taken for the newest architecture, but most likely the artist solves the problem of combining a real object and geometric blocks from the world of his imagination.
