The picture of Guglielmo Marconi, a famous inventor and Nobel Prize winner, depicts the scientist in a peculiar surrealistic manner. Prampolini painted the distance radio wave transmitter invented by Marconi in the foreground and the scientist himself inside a strange structure, floating in the air. Despite the abstractness of the canvas, the face in the picture has a clear portrait resemblance and is easily recognizable. It is not known for sure whether the artist knew the inventor personally. Still, we can say with certainty that the author reflected his interest in scientific achievements and admiration for the human mind in this painting.
