Grandma’s Boy

author

Allan Kaprow

description

Location: the Museum of Newark (New Jersey, the USA).

The composition consists of several items fastened like a frame for photographs. At the center of the work, there is an old photograph and a mirror so that the audience feels their presence inside the work. Despite the autobiographical name of the work, the people depicted there are not relatives of Allan Kaprow. The artist found this old photograph in the house he rented, and it made him remember his childhood.
