1915
Mediums: gouache, cardboard.
Location: the City Museum Stedeliyk (Khardzhiev Foundation), Amsterdam. (Netherlands).
The composition is both an interior still life and a plot picture. The elements of the room are easily distinguished by the presence of a “flying” carafe, pieces of furniture (top view), and, most importantly, by the full-length photograph of a real girl. In a rather bright and varied colour scheme that the artist used, black and white photograph became the semantic accent of the work. The bright diagonal divides the space into two parts of almost equal size – the conditionally designated city is piled behind the wall of the room. This picture was followed by the compositions No. 12, 13, etc.
